The Marseilles Episcopal Church was organized in 1825 in an old log school house in Marseilles Township. It was made of hewed logs with puncheon floors and greased paper windows, and stood just across the street from and west of the present church. The first Methodist church in Marseilles Village was erected in 1840 for $1,000. It stood just back of where the church stands today. The present building was built in 1900 with the estimated cost of $2,700.
The Marseilles Circuit has seen many changes – 8 churches in 1858, 6 churches in 1865, 4 churches in 1899 through 1940, 3 churches in 1946 to 2018. In November 2024 Marseilles Methodist Church became a Global Methodist Church.
