Salem Chapel was first organized at a log school house near Parlett's corners. The first church was a brick building 32 x 40 feet. The original cost was $2,000. The deed for the property was issued Oct. 4, 1867. The original building was built in 1868. A Sunday School addition was added in 1968 followed by an addition in 1986, which added restrooms and a kitchen. Sunday School is held at 9:00 followed by the worship service at 10:00 am.
